Embracing Good Arguments
April 25 at 5:00 PM | Emerson Hall, 305
Bo Seo, ’17, HLS, 24 – two-time world debate champion, former Harvard debate coach and author of Good Arguments – believes good disagreements can enlarge people’s lives and strengthen communities. In conversation with Resident Dean of First Year Students, Alysha Johnson Williams ‘14, GSE ’20, Bo previews a workshop he’s designed, and describes what he hopes first-year students will take away from it: that it will teach students the fundamentals that have aided him in debate, from grasping the dispute at hand to making potent arguments. The lessons will provide fresh insight into how disagreements work and practical tools to better connect in academic and residential settings. This workshop is open to all students in the Class of 2027.
