Ari Kohn is a senior in Leverett House studying a focus field of “Trust in Higher Education” through a joint concentration in Philosophy and Social Studies. She is the co-founder and co-chair (since Fall 2024) of the Intellectual Vitality (IV) Student Advisory Board, having previously served as a fellow during the program’s formative stages. Ari’s academic work focuses on how institutions—especially universities—cultivate the ethical and epistemic foundations of democratic life. She is a research assistant for the Taskforce on Civic Strength in Higher Education, co-chaired by Drs. Danielle Allen and Jenna Storey, which explores how universities can renew public trust and serve the public good by countering misinformation, polarization, and civic disengagement. Beyond her work with IV, Ari is deeply involved in campus life. She serves as a voting member of the Harvard Honor Council, an undergraduate fellow at the Safra Center for Ethics, an engaged research fellow at the Radcliffe Institute, a member of the Student Advisory Board for the Mindich Program in Engaged Scholarship, and a teaching fellow in the Statistics Department. When she’s not thinking about the woes of higher education, Ari loves to sing, conduct, and compose.
