Adnan Bin Alamgir is a first-year residing in Stoughton Hall, planning to double concentrate in Physics and Classics, but is still chronically undecided. He is originally from Bangladesh and grew up in Dhaka, the capital city. His interest lies in finding commonality and shared values within deep divisions, and loves learning about new perspectives and conversing about the place of our identities and beliefs in our interactions with the world. As part of the Intellectual Vitality Board he hopes to listen to views from across the spectrum of ideologies and look together for the string that binds us all together.
Beyond the IV, he is also a member of the First-year Religious, Spiritual, and Ethical Life Fellowship and the Harvard Undergraduate Association. In high school, he represented his country in the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics and was involved in research in Astronomy, and being involved and interacting with a global community on these occasions also shaped a lot of ideas and questions.
When he is not grinding psets or doing any other work, he is involved with theater and loves to read Victorian and European classics.
