Brandon Cheng is a sophomore in Eliot House concentrating in Economics. He is honored to serve on the Intellectual Vitality Student Advisory Board because he believes the tenets grounding this initiative—free speech and viewpoint diversity—are essential to the enduring success of American higher education, including Harvard College. America and its institutions have accomplished remarkable things—from inventing the Internet to sustaining the only nation on earth chartered in freedom—when they pursue truth and excellence, which they do best when they embrace the richness of different perspectives rather than subscribe blindly to the dogma of one popular perspective.

Brandon is Founder and Chairman of the Harvard College Concord Institute, whose mission is to invite students to study, sustain, and serve the American republic—its Constitution, its founding arguments, and the habits and associations that form a free and patriotic people. In addition, he is involved in Global Platinum Securities, the Harvard College Debating Union, and the Institute of Politics. Originally from Los Angeles, Brandon enjoys aviation and good food—the keys to a happy and adventurous life!
